Sitka Gold Corp. has initiated a significant diamond drilling operation at its RC Gold Project, situated in the heart of the renowned Tombstone Gold Belt, approximately 100 kilometres east of Dawson City, Yukon. The company has announced plans to conduct up to 15,000 metres of diamond drilling throughout the year, incorporating both winter and summer drilling campaigns in 2024.

The focus of the current drilling effort is on the Blackjack Zone, where the aim is to assess the continuity of high-grade gold intercepts previously identified at the zone’s southern extent. This area, part of the larger Blackjack gold deposit, is noted for its openness in all directions, suggesting significant untapped potential.

Moreover, the Northern Extent of the Clear Creek Intrusive Complex has emerged as a key area of interest, highlighted by several drill intervals and surface samples showcasing the high-grade nature of the Reduced Intrusion Related Gold System present. With gold assays exceeding 10 grams per tonne in some locations, the complex presents multiple unexplored targets with the potential for hosting substantial intrusion-related gold deposits over an area of approximately 3 km by 5 km.

The 2024 drilling objectives aim to expand and further delineate the Clear Creek Intrusive Complex area, which boasts a maiden resource estimate of 1.34 million ounces of gold across the Blackjack and Eiger gold deposits. Both deposits remain open in all directions, underlining the project’s significant growth potential. The exploration will also focus on advancing other drill-ready targets across the extensive 386 square kilometre district-scale property.
