In Fairbanks, Alaska, a comprehensive investigation led to the arrest of 46-year-old Kevin Shank, a local resident implicated in significant drug-related offenses and the possession of stolen goods. The arrest followed a detailed search of Shank’s premises, which unveiled a substantial quantity of illegal substances and illicit items.
Authorities, including the Fairbanks Area Narcotics Team and the Fairbanks Criminal Suppression Unit, executed a search warrant at Shank’s residence this Tuesday. The operation was the culmination of an extensive monthslong probe into Shank’s activities. The search revealed drugs with an estimated street value ranging from $1,067,000 to $1,500,000. Among the seized narcotics were over 11 kilograms of methamphetamine, 1 kilogram of fentanyl powder, more than 2 kilograms of M-130 fentanyl pills, 1 kilogram of cocaine, 30 grams of heroin, several suboxone strips, and a glass jar filled with Xanax pills.
Furthermore, law enforcement discovered Shank in possession of seven firearms, two illegal suppressors, a smoke grenade, numerous 5-gallon buckets and totes filled with marijuana, items of stolen property, about $150,000 in suspected stolen tools, and a considerable amount of new clothing, presumed to be unlawfully acquired.
The investigation and subsequent arrest were conducted by the Fairbanks Area Narcotics Team Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit, a coalition comprising members from the Alaska State Troopers, Drug Enforcement Administration, Fairbanks Police Department, Fairbanks Airport Police, North Pole Police, North Slope Borough Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
