Earlier today, a dog set social media alight when it was spotted on top of a roof in West Oakland, the athletic canine bizarrely stood on top of a roof surveying the area while also seemingly being aware of having its photo taken.
Here, it looked proud of its work, bringing a completely new meaning to the term ‘watchdog’. Although dogs are known to be able to jump fairly high, the image still begs the question as to how the dog managed to get onto the roof.
Originally posted on Reddit, one user wrote ‘Brilliant the most Oakland thing I’ve seen all week. I love it.’ while another quipped ‘I love this guy! He’ll sprint from front porch to rooftop in a blink. He loves being the noble skyline hero of Wood Street.’
Based on the previous comment, it looks like this inquisitive pooch has a history of navigating through his local neighborhood and sounds like quite the character. Elsewhere, another user claimed that although the dog was highly alert, it was also incredibly friendly.
As is the case with many social media sightings, this episode brings up more questions than answers. Nonetheless, not many would have this on their bingo cards for a Monday morning in Oakland.
