In a truly bizarre turn of events, a car thief’s clothes were seen nailed to a tree on the streets of Oakland. Although the city is no stranger to crime, even by Oakland’s standards this is one of the stranger crime-based incidents to behold.

Originally posted on Reddit, the photograph below has a pair of jeans, a hoodie, and a t-shirt seemingly nailed to a tree. Above the items of clothing read a sign that read ‘car theef (thief) left in my car!’ The thread was titled ‘So many questions’ with the poster added ‘hoping for answers’. In fairness, it looks as though these captions are very appropriate due to the surreal nature of the incident.

Unfortunately, there is little context surrounding this image, however it is assumed that someone found a bunch of clothes left in their car after it was broken into. As a result, they decided to attach the clothes to a nearby tree before leaving a note with bad grammar.

Unfortunately, little else is known about this situation but it also highlights how kind certain locals can be even after having their property burglarized. For now at least, it looks as though the car thief has failed to collect their items of clothing from the tree.
