A new deli and grill has opened yesterday in Astoria. Located on 3411 Broadway, this is one of the many new eateries that has recently occupied the area. As a result, it is not surprising that Astoria has recently gained a reputation for one of New York’s best areas to grab a bite to eat.
Adorned with an orange and black theme, Nosh Up is Broadway’s latest resident. It has so far opened to solid reviews from locals on social media. For those wondering, the establishment is essentially a midtown delicatessen with a modest salad bar that also offers pickle bun sandwiches. The chicken quesadilla was satisfactory, while the chipotle cheesesteak was representative of standard offerings found in such establishments.
Ultimately, only time will tell as to whether Nosh Up survives the competitive settings of being on Broadway. Its predecessor was a pizzeria which eventually folded after a few years. Unfortunately, this isn’t too uncommon for this spot however we can only hope that Nosh Up goes one better and gives the locals something to look forward too.
News of the grand opening comes just days after it was confirmed that a new bakery would be replacing the vacant Queens Bakehouse spot. According to a sign on the front door, Jhoanes Bakery & Coffee shop will soon be opening which offers a fusion of French and Latin foods.
